Professor Stewart Clegg receives AISWN Best Paper Award

The John Grill Institute for Project Leadership and School of Project Management’s Professor Stewart Clegg and his co-authors – Associate Professor Aljona Zorina (University of Leeds), Professor France Bélanger (Virginia Tech) and Professor Nanda Kumar (Baruch College) – have received the Association for Information Systems Network College (AISWN) Best Paper Award for their publication “Watchers, Watched, and Watching in the Digital Age: Reconceptualization of IT Monitoring as Complex Action Nets” in Organization Science Journal.

The article investigates and makes theoretical contributions to the understanding of IT monitoring of watchers and watched, their relationships and the implications and potential for future studies on IT veillance.

The award will be conferred at International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) 2022 Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark next month.

Earlier this year, Professor Clegg and his co-authors – Professor Miguel Pina e Cunha (NOVA University Lisbon), Professor Arménio Rego (Catholic University of Portugal) and Marco Berti (University of Technology, Sydney) – received the Best Book Award at the European Academy of Management (EURAM) 2022 conference in Winterthur, Switzerland for their publication “Paradoxes of Power and Leadership”.
