DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Marina Van Der Walt \n \nMarina is the Head of Assurance at Infrastructure NSW. Marina joined the agency in 2017. \nWith over $112 billion in infrastructure to deliver in NSW over the next four years\, Marina leads the Investor Assurance team to ensure major capital projects are delivered in a timely and cost-efficient way through the implementation of the NSW Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework. Her team is also responsible for ensuring the NSW Government’s ~$400 billion asset portfolio remains adaptable to changing service need and resilient to shocks and stresses\, through implementation of Asset Management Assurance. \nAs an executive leader who has worked in the finance and public administration for more than 20 years\, Marina has expertise in the strategic management of mega infrastructure portfolios\, including the planning\, commissioning\, procurement and execution of tailored commercial arrangements for large infrastructure and service projects across sectors\, in Australia and Africa. \nMarina has previously held senior roles at NSW Treasury\, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and HSBC. \nTopic: Trends and Insights and Associated Reforms for NSW Infrastructure Projects \nInfrastructure NSW assures the NSW Infrastructure Program applying the Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework. In June 2022\, the Assurance Team has released its Trends & Insights 2021 report which identifies opportunities to further increase the confidence in the successful delivery of a sustainable infrastructure legacy. \nMarina will touch on the three trends identified in this Report. She will also talk about some reforms that Infrastructure NSW has led in cost control and commercial principles for infrastructure projects in NSW. \nRegister
